Christoph Flamm is Professor of Musicology at the University of Music Luebeck, Germany. He received his Ph.D. at Heidelberg University in 1995 with a monographic study on Nikolai Medtner. From 1994 to 2001 he has worked full-time as member of the editorial staff of the encyclopedia Die Musik in Geschichte und Gegenwart. He was scientific assistant at the Department of Music History of the IStituto Storico Germanico in Rome from 2001 to 2004. In 2005 he was awarded a two-year grant from the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. In 2007 he received his Habilitation at the University of the Saarland in Saarbrücken. He has been Visiting Professor at Berlin University of the Arts in 2011/12 as well as Professor of Applied Musicology at the University of Klagenfurt, Austria, in 2013/14.
